Cheaper MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3M Appears With Arc B370 at $1,499
A US retailer lists an MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3M with Arc B370 graphics, 32GB RAM and 512GB storage for $1,499, but MSI has not announced its launch.

A lower-tier Claw 8 EX AI+ configuration has surfaced
A new MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ configuration has appeared in US retail listings under model CG3M-072USY and manufacturer part number CLAW8EX0272. ExcaliberPC lists the handheld with Intel's standard Arc G3 processor and Arc B370 graphics, 32GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
The retailer lists the machine at $1,499. That makes the configuration potentially significant for the premium Windows-handheld market, but this is not yet an MSI launch announcement. MSI's public material has focused on the higher-end CG3EM model, so price, release timing and regional availability for CG3M should remain treated as retailer-reported until MSI confirms them.
| Area | CG3M retailer listing | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Intel Arc G3 | Lower-tier platform than the Arc G3 Extreme used by the flagship Claw 8 EX AI+ |
| Integrated graphics | Intel Arc B370 | Retail listing identifies B370 rather than the flagship B390 |
| Memory | 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 | Memory capacity remains high for a handheld PC |
| Storage | 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD | Lower capacity than the 1TB configuration commonly associated with the flagship model |
| Display | 8-inch 1920×1200 120Hz IPS-level touchscreen | The listed display format remains unchanged |
| Battery | 80Wh | The listed battery capacity remains unchanged |
| US price | $1,499 | Retailer-listed price, not an MSI-confirmed MSRP |
Arc B370 is the main hardware trade-off
The practical distinction is the graphics tier. The CG3M listing specifies Arc B370 graphics, while MSI's already announced Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM uses the faster Arc G3 Extreme platform. Earlier reporting around the CG3M points to 10 Xe3 cores for B370 versus 12 Xe3 cores in the B390-class graphics used by the Extreme model.
That core-count difference does not establish a reliable gaming-performance delta by itself. Power limits, memory behavior, drivers and game-specific scaling all matter, and there is not yet an independent CG3M review set that supports a precise percentage comparison. Buyers should therefore avoid translating the two-core difference directly into an assumed frame-rate gap.
The rest of the listed handheld stays familiar
ExcaliberPC's specification page lists the same broad premium-handheld formula: an 8-inch 1920×1200 120Hz touchscreen, an 80Wh battery, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, Hall-effect sticks and triggers, microSD expansion and Windows 11 Home.
That makes CG3M look less like a new chassis and more like a lower-cost silicon and storage configuration. If MSI launches it broadly, the interesting question will be how much gaming performance the Arc B370 gives up relative to Arc G3 Extreme in exchange for the lower entry price.
Why this matters for handheld PCs
Intel's newest handheld push is trying to compete in a segment that has largely revolved around AMD-based devices. A second Claw 8 EX AI+ performance tier would give MSI a way to reuse its premium 8-inch platform while putting less expensive Intel silicon into the same form factor.
The $1,499 listing is still well into gaming-laptop territory, so the lower-tier model would not turn the Claw into a budget handheld. Its value will depend on final retail pricing, availability and independent performance and battery testing once actual CG3M units ship.
