STALKER 2 Patch 2.0.6 Targets AMD GPU Crashes
GSC Game World has released STALKER 2 Patch 2.0.6 with backported fixes for AMD GPU-related crashes and additional high-priority crash fixes.

Patch 2.0.6 is a focused crash-fix release
GSC Game World has released Patch 2.0.6 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, with the short changelog aimed directly at stability. The studio says it backported several fixes for crashes related to AMD GPUs and fixed several other high-priority crashes.
That wording matters. GSC is not presenting 2.0.6 as a broad performance patch, a new Radeon optimization pass or a guarantee that every crash reported on AMD hardware is gone. It is a targeted hotfix containing multiple crash corrections, including fixes specifically associated with AMD GPUs.
The AMD fixes arrive after the much larger 2.0.5 update
Patch 2.0.6 follows the substantially larger 2.0.5 update released on September 10. That earlier release contained more than 200 fixes spanning missions, NPC behavior, visuals, controls, performance problems and crashes. The new release is intentionally narrower: its published notes list the AMD-related crash backports and additional high-priority crash fixes rather than another large set of gameplay changes.
For Radeon players who were troubleshooting instability, this makes updating the game the sensible first step before changing unrelated system settings. It also makes version numbers important when comparing reports from other players: a crash report from 2.0, 2.0.4 or 2.0.5 does not establish the behavior of 2.0.6.
Mods are another variable after the update
GSC also repeats its warning that installed mods may not survive a game update cleanly. If performance or stability problems appear after updating, the developer recommends disabling mods first and using its Technical Support Center if problems continue.
That is especially relevant when trying to determine whether 2.0.6 changed Radeon stability. Testing an updated game with incompatible modifications still enabled can mix two separate failure sources and make the result difficult to interpret. A clean comparison should keep the game version, graphics driver, settings and mod state explicit.
What Radeon players should take from the patch
The useful takeaway is modest but concrete: GSC has acknowledged AMD GPU-related crashes strongly enough to ship multiple backported fixes specifically for them. That is better evidence than community workarounds that attribute instability to a particular graphics option, clock setting or upscaler without controlled testing.
Patch 2.0.6 does not provide new performance numbers, and Core Tech Tips has not independently benchmarked its crash rate across Radeon GPUs. For affected players, the next useful evidence will be whether reproducible crashes persist on 2.0.6 with mods disabled and current drivers, and whether GSC identifies any remaining AMD-specific causes in subsequent updates.
