Season 24 arrives on Rocket League v2.76

Rocket League Season 24 launches on September 23, 2026, following the v2.76 client update scheduled for September 22 at 11 p.m. UTC. Psyonix’s first-party patch notes combine the season’s gameplay additions with several changes that are specifically relevant to the PC client.

The PC-focused items are narrower than the full Season 24 feature list but materially useful: keyboard-and-mouse controls have been modernized, an alt-tab freeze has been fixed, and the SMAA anti-aliasing option has been corrected. Psyonix does not publish a general frame-rate, latency or performance uplift for v2.76, so those fixes should not be turned into an unsupported performance claim.

Rocket League v2.76 changes most relevant to PC players
AreaDocumented v2.76 changeWhat it establishes
Keyboard and mouseUpdated defaults plus a new free-look camera modeA control/camera workflow change, not a latency claim
Free lookNew camera mode also available to controller playersThe camera feature is not PC-input exclusive
Alt-tab behaviorFixed a PC issue where alt-tabbing during a transition could leave the client frozen on the previous frameA specific stability fix for that reproduction path
SMAAFixed a PC issue where SMAA did not smooth jagged edges as intendedThe existing anti-aliasing option should now behave as intended
Visual qualityFixed flickering on large boost pickups when using the High quality settingA targeted rendering fix, not a broad graphics overhaul

Keyboard and mouse gets a new free-look camera workflow

Psyonix describes v2.76 as introducing modernized keyboard-and-mouse controls. The patch adds a free-look camera mode, updates the default mouse-and-keyboard controls and adds an optional center-dot reticle intended to support the new camera movement.

The free-look mode itself is also available to controller players, so the feature should not be described as a keyboard-and-mouse-only camera. The PC-specific significance is the revised default control scheme and mouse-oriented camera workflow. The patch notes do not claim reduced input latency, higher polling rates or a competitive performance advantage from the change.

Two notable PC bugs are explicitly fixed

Under Stability and Performance, Psyonix says v2.76 fixes a PC bug where alt-tabbing during a transition could leave Rocket League frozen on the previous frame. That is a defined failure mode rather than a promise that every alt-tab, focus or display-mode problem is resolved.

The Cosmetics and Content section also calls out a PC SMAA fix: the anti-aliasing option was not smoothing jagged edges as intended. This is important to separate from a new anti-aliasing technology. SMAA was already exposed by the game; v2.76 fixes the behavior of that existing option.

Season 24 also changes how players move between matches and modes

The headline Season 24 addition is Honor Duels. During a match, one player can challenge another to a one-versus-one in the same match type. If accepted, the challenger and defender are moved into the duel after the current match, while other players can choose to spectate through the Social Menu.

Psyonix also adds the Bullet Ball limited-time mode, Black Market duplicate trade-ins, stat-tracking titles, customizable scoreboard statistics and Top 100 leaderboard titles. Free-for-all modes such as Bullet Ball and Knockout can now be selected in Private Matches and Exhibition, and a Boost Pad Recharge Rate mutator has been added.

The patch notes are the boundary for technical claims

Version 2.76 contains other UI, menu, cosmetic and crash fixes across supported platforms, but the first-party notes do not provide benchmark data for the PC build. Core Tech Tips has not independently benchmarked Season 24, so there is no defensible basis here for claiming higher average FPS, better frame pacing or lower input latency after the update.

For PC troubleshooting, the useful version boundary is concrete: reports about the transition alt-tab freeze or ineffective SMAA should first be checked against v2.76 or newer. Problems that persist on the current client may have a different cause and should not automatically be treated as the same bugs Psyonix lists as fixed.
