A newer QD-OLED panel arrives in the familiar 34-inch ultrawide format
Philips Evnia has announced the 34M2C8600P, a 34-inch 21:9 gaming monitor built around a fifth-generation QD-OLED panel. It combines a 3440×1440 resolution with refresh rates up to 280Hz, a 0.03ms GtG response-time claim, an anti-reflection treatment and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.
The 1800R curved panel covers a claimed 99.3% of DCI-P3 and supports 10-bit color. Those specifications make this a meaningful refresh of the established 34-inch QD-OLED category rather than simply another higher-refresh esports display: Philips is retaining the ultrawide resolution and OLED contrast characteristics while raising the refresh ceiling and adding a newer panel generation.

The connection package is aimed at mixed gaming and laptop desks
Philips lists two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4 input and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 90W Power Delivery. An integrated KVM can share one keyboard and mouse between two systems, while MultiView supports picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture operation.
That combination is useful for a desk where a gaming desktop and work laptop share the same ultrawide. The interface labels alone do not prove which link mode, color format or compression behavior is used for every 3440×1440 280Hz configuration, however. AmbiScape extends the monitor lighting beyond its own chassis
The monitor includes Philips’ AI-enhanced Ambiglow backlighting, which analyzes on-screen content and changes the lighting projected behind the display. The newer AmbiScape feature can also coordinate up to 10 compatible Matter smart lights through Philips Evnia Precision Center.
That room-light integration is separate from the panel itself and should not be confused with an HDR or refresh-rate feature. It is an ecosystem addition for users who want screen-reactive lighting to extend beyond the monitor’s built-in LEDs.
October availability is confirmed, but pricing is regional
Philips says the Evnia 34M2C8600P will be available from October 2026. UK launch material lists an MSRP of £779. That price should not be converted into an assumed US or euro MSRP: regional taxes, distribution and product positioning can differ, and Philips has not established a universal global price in the material reviewed for this story.
For buyers comparing it with other new OLED monitors, the practical questions extend beyond the 280Hz headline.
