CONTROL Resonant Radeon 7000 and 9000 Issues Get AMD Driver Fix

Remedy has added AMD Radeon 7000- and 9000-series graphics cards to the official CONTROL Resonant known-issues list, saying performance issues can occur on those GPUs. The studio says AMD is working on a driver update expected to become available soon and that the driver will be offered as an optional download from AMD's website.

That is the useful confirmed boundary for Radeon owners right now. Remedy does not name individual affected GPU models, quantify the performance loss, give a driver version, or provide a release date. The issue should therefore not be interpreted as proof that every RDNA 3 or RDNA 4 card is affected, nor as a promise of a specific performance uplift from the coming driver.

The same official issue list documents a separate problem where changing Ray Tracing quality in the graphics menu can cause a significant FPS drop. Remedy's workaround for that behavior is to restart the game after changing the setting; the selected graphics setting remains saved.

Keeping the two issues separate matters for troubleshooting. A Radeon 7000- or 9000-series owner seeing poor performance may be encountering the acknowledged Radeon driver problem, while a sharp drop that begins specifically after changing Ray Tracing quality has its own documented restart workaround. Remedy has not said that the upcoming AMD driver is the fix for every PC graphics issue on the list.

The next meaningful evidence is the AMD driver release itself: its version number, release notes, supported hardware, and whether it explicitly names CONTROL Resonant. After that, controlled testing can establish whether the driver changes average frame rate, frame pacing, stability, or only particular rendering paths.

Until then, the strongest practical guidance comes directly from Remedy's issue tracker. Restart the game if performance drops after changing Ray Tracing quality, keep the Radeon performance issue distinct from other graphics bugs, and avoid treating community workarounds or isolated benchmark results as an official universal fix.
