AMD Adrenalin 26.9.2 Adds Witcher 3 Remastered and CONTROL Resonant Support

AMD released Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2 on September 29, 2026 with new game support for Minecraft Dungeons II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign early access, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered, Gears of War: E-Day, CONTROL Resonant and Valor Mortis.

The practical reason to update is broader than a launch-day compatibility label. AMD also lists fixes for several game-specific driver timeouts and freezes, making 26.9.2 relevant to Radeon owners who were already troubleshooting those titles.

AMD says 26.9.2 fixes an intermittent driver timeout in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Radeon RX 7000 series GPUs. It also addresses a War Thunder DirectX 12 timeout seen on RX 6000 series hardware when Instant Replay and Borderless Region Capture are enabled.

For Radeon RX 9000 series owners, AMD lists a fix for an intermittent driver timeout or system freeze in HITMAN World of Assassination. These are targeted fixes; they should not be interpreted as proof that every unrelated crash or stability problem on those GPU families has been resolved.

The Witcher 3 Remastered launched on September 29 with substantial rendering changes including path tracing and modern reconstruction options. AMD's 26.9.2 release therefore arrives as the relevant Radeon launch-support branch rather than leaving users on the earlier 26.9.1 package.

Early community reports around the remaster are mixed across systems, so Core Tech Tips is not treating individual user reports as evidence that 26.9.2 universally fixes every visual, stutter or stability problem. The defensible claim is narrower: AMD officially added the game to the driver's supported list.

AMD continues to list a possible AI Bundle component installation failure in regions where access to Hugging Face and GitHub is limited. That issue concerns the optional AI software components rather than the six-game support list itself.

Radeon owners deciding whether to update should therefore separate three questions: whether they need support for one of the newly listed games, whether one of the specifically fixed issues affects their GPU, and whether their current stable configuration has any reason to change. A new driver is useful evidence of support, not an automatic requirement for every Radeon PC.
