G81SF is a specific Odyssey OLED G8 family, not a synonym for every Odyssey OLED G8

Samsung currently documents Odyssey OLED G8 G81SF models in both 27-inch and 32-inch classes. Current European product pages identify 27-inch examples such as LS27FG810SUXEN and LS27FG812SUXEN and 32-inch examples such as LS32FG810SUXEN, LS32FG812SUXEN, and LS32FG814SUXEN. Regional suffixes can differ even when the front-facing G81SF family name is shared.

This reference therefore covers only specifications that Samsung documents for the G81SF family or for the explicitly named 27- and 32-inch G81SF variants. It does not silently import specifications from G80SD, G80SF, ultrawide Odyssey OLED G8 products, or another screen size. Always match the full model code on the local Samsung support/product page before using dimensions, power, warranty, or certification details.

Both documented sizes are flat 16:9 4K OLED monitors with a maximum 240 Hz refresh rate

Samsung specifies 3,840 × 2,160 resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, a flat OLED panel, and a maximum 240 Hz refresh rate for the current 27-inch and 32-inch G81SF pages checked for this reference. Samsung also lists Quantum Dot Color on these G81SF product pages, placing the family in the QD-OLED implementation discussed separately in the Core Tech Tips QD-OLED versus WOLED guide.

Samsung advertises a 0.03 ms gray-to-gray response time. That number is a manufacturer claim based on Samsung internal GtG test conditions, not an independent Core Tech Tips latency or pixel-response measurement. Refresh rate, pixel response, signal-processing latency, frame rate, and end-to-end input latency remain different measurements.

HDR and brightness specifications differ by size, so do not copy one G81SF value across the family

Current Samsung European pages list VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and HDR10+ Gaming for both checked sizes. They also list a static contrast specification of 1,000,000:1 and up to 1 billion colors. These are manufacturer/certification specifications; they are not independent measurements of HDR performance, tone mapping, color accuracy, or real-content brightness.

The size distinction matters: Samsung lists 250 cd/m² typical brightness for the 27-inch G81SF pages checked here, while current 32-inch pages list 260 cd/m² typical brightness. Both list 200 cd/m² minimum on the cited regional pages. This reference preserves that documented difference instead of creating a single invented family-wide brightness value.

The documented input set is DisplayPort 1.4 plus two HDMI 2.1 ports and a USB hub

Samsung lists one DisplayPort 1.4 input and two HDMI 2.1 inputs on current G81SF pages. The same specification tables list HDCP 2.2 for DisplayPort and HDMI, one headphone output, one USB-B upstream port, and two USB Type-A downstream ports at USB 3.2 Gen 1. USB-C is listed as absent, and the monitor has no built-in speakers.

Those version labels establish the monitor-side interfaces; they do not by themselves prove that every source device, cable, color format, bit depth, HDR mode, or refresh-rate combination will operate identically. For link-level bandwidth and format questions, use the separate DisplayPort-versus-HDMI reference and the exact source-GPU documentation.

FreeSync Premium Pro is consistently documented, while G-SYNC labeling varies across Samsung regions

Samsung consistently lists AMD FreeSync Premium Pro on the G81SF regional pages checked for this reference. The G-SYNC field is not consistent: Samsung Czech, Belgian, Norwegian, and Swiss pages currently identify G-SYNC or G-SYNC Compatible support for some G81SF SKUs, while current UK and French specification tables for other regional suffixes explicitly show G-Sync as No.

Because Samsung’s own current regional documentation disagrees, this reference does not convert G81SF into one universal G-SYNC-compatibility claim. Check the exact regional/full model code and current GPU-driver ecosystem documentation for the unit being purchased. Variable refresh rate support also does not establish a measured VRR range, flicker behavior, latency result, or frame-rate performance without separate evidence.

Samsung documents Glare Free treatment and a thermal system, but those are not review measurements

Samsung markets the G81SF with its Glare Free surface treatment and OLED Safeguard+ features. Samsung describes the thermal design as a Dynamic Cooling System using a pulsating heat pipe to dissipate heat and says thermal modulation plus screen-protection functions are used to reduce burn-in risk. These statements describe Samsung’s product design and protection features; they are not independent measurements of panel temperature, fan noise, burn-in lifespan, or long-term reliability.

Burn-in warranty wording is also region-specific. Multiple current European Samsung pages state that burn-in during normal use is covered, while commercial use, abuse, or misuse is excluded. Samsung Germany currently states a two-year warranty including burn-in damage under proper use. Do not assume that duration or exact terms apply worldwide; the local warranty for the full model code remains authoritative.

The stand supports height, tilt, swivel, pivot, and 100 × 100 mm VESA mounting

Current Samsung G81SF specifications list a height-adjustable pivot stand with 120 mm of height adjustment, tilt from approximately -2° to 25°, swivel from approximately -30° to +30°, pivot from approximately -92° to +92°, and a 100 × 100 mm wall-mount pattern. Those ergonomics are documented for the checked 27- and 32-inch regional models.

Physical dimensions and weight are size-specific. Samsung lists the 27-inch model at 611.7 × 554.2 × 263.5 mm with its stand and 6.9 kg, versus 719.7 × 584.6 × 263.5 mm and 8.4 kg for the checked 32-inch model. Without the stand, the cited figures are 611.7 × 353.8 × 49.2 mm and 3.8 kg for 27-inch, and 719.7 × 414.7 × 49.2 mm and 5.3 kg for 32-inch.

Power specifications are size- and region-specific rather than one universal G81SF draw

Samsung’s current 27-inch Danish specification lists a 140 W maximum, 45.0 W typical consumption, 0.50 W DPMS, and 0.30 W off mode with an external adapter. The current 32-inch Danish/UK specifications instead list a 180 W maximum, 38.4 W typical consumption, 0.50 W DPMS, and 0.30 W off mode, also with an external adapter.

These are Samsung specification/energy-label values, not Core Tech Tips wall-power measurements and not a prediction of gaming power draw. Different test standards, picture modes, HDR content, refresh behavior, brightness settings, USB load, firmware, and regional energy requirements can change actual consumption. Use the local product information sheet when energy use is a purchase criterion.

Use the full model code when checking a G81SF rather than relying on the marketing name alone

For a specific unit, verify five things from the local Samsung page or manual: the full LS27/LS32 model code and suffix; screen size; input/VRR fields; local power and warranty data; and the current support/manual revision. Samsung’s current European support pages expose manuals dated June 2025 and newer August 2026 revisions for some regional G81SF models, so support documentation can change after launch.

This page intentionally does not provide a price, availability claim, review score, measured brightness, measured color accuracy, input-lag result, burn-in lifespan, or buying verdict. For architecture-level QD-OLED tradeoffs, OLED wear, general monitor latency, or DisplayPort-versus-HDMI behavior, use the dedicated Core Tech Tips guides rather than treating a G81SF specification sheet as evidence for those broader questions.
