Arc B580 is a Battlemage desktop GPU built on the Xe2 microarchitecture

Intel lists the Arc B580 as a desktop Arc B-Series GPU, code-named Battlemage, using the Xe2 microarchitecture and TSMC N5 lithography. Its official specification lists 20 Xe-cores, 20 ray-tracing units, 160 XMX engines and 160 Xe vector engines, with a 2670 MHz graphics clock. These are Intel specifications, not Core Tech Tips benchmark measurements.

Use those resource counts to identify the product and its architecture, not to derive a frame rate or a cross-vendor performance ranking. Different GPU architectures expose different execution resources, so similarly named counts are not directly interchangeable across vendors.

The memory subsystem is 12 GB GDDR6 on a 192-bit interface

Intel specifies 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, a 192-bit graphics-memory interface, 19 Gbps memory speed and 456 GB/s of graphics-memory bandwidth. Capacity, signaling rate, bus width and bandwidth describe separate properties and should not be collapsed into one generic measure of GPU speed.

The 12 GB capacity is a physical resource boundary, not a guarantee for a particular resolution or graphics preset. Real VRAM demand depends on the game or application, assets, resolution, rendering features, mods and software behavior.

The host connection is PCIe 4.0 x8

Intel lists PCI Express 4.0 x8 as the Arc B580 host-interface configuration. That is an eight-lane Gen 4 link specification; it is separate from the 192-bit GDDR6 memory interface inside the graphics card.

For an upgrade, verify the motherboard slot's electrical lane configuration, firmware and platform support rather than assuming that a physically x16 slot is electrically x16. Do not infer a universal gaming-performance penalty from the lane count without controlled workload measurements on the platforms being compared.

Display support reaches four displays and includes DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1

Intel lists support for up to four displays, with graphics-output capability including HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 modes up to UHBR 13.5. Intel also lists HDMI variable refresh rate support.

The product specification lists maximum resolutions up to 7680 × 4320 at 120 Hz over HDMI and 7680 × 4320 at 60 Hz over DisplayPort under the documented conditions. These are output capabilities, not claims that demanding games will render at those resolutions and refresh rates. The complete display path still depends on the exact card outputs, cable, display input and negotiated mode.

Hardware media support includes AV1, H.264 and HEVC encode and decode

Intel's B580 specification lists hardware encode and decode support for AV1, H.264 and H.265/HEVC, plus two multi-format codec engines. These fixed-function media capabilities are distinct from Xe-core count and gaming rasterization performance.

Application support, codec profile, settings and workload still determine actual encode or decode behavior. The presence of hardware codec support does not by itself establish throughput, quality or performance relative to another GPU.

Intel specifies 190 W TBP and a 600 W minimum PSU for its reference card

Intel lists 190 W Total Board Power for the Arc B580. For the Intel Limited Edition reference card, Intel lists a 600 W minimum power-supply unit and one 8-pin power connector. TBP and the PSU recommendation describe different scopes: 190 W is the board-power specification, while 600 W is system-level PSU guidance for the reference card.

Intel also lists the Limited Edition card at 272 × 115 mm, two slots and 779 g. Treat those physical and connector figures as Intel reference-card attributes rather than universal dimensions for every Arc B580 sold by an add-in-board partner.

Use specifications for capability and compatibility, not a benchmark verdict

The Arc B580 specification sheet establishes architecture, resources, memory, interface, media, display and power facts. It does not establish a defensible gaming or application-performance delta against another GPU without comparable measurements.

For a real upgrade decision, combine this GPU-level reference with the exact card specification, motherboard and firmware support, case clearance, PSU and cabling, display requirements and current driver support. Use controlled benchmark evidence separately when performance is the question.
