What is confirmed before launch

CONTROL Resonant is scheduled to launch on September 24, 2026. Remedy lists the PC release through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The official Steam page currently lists Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 16 GB of RAM, 120 GB of available storage and an SSD requirement for both its minimum and recommended configurations.

This is a pre-launch technical reference, not a benchmark review. The hardware tables and graphics features below describe current publisher, storefront and NVIDIA disclosures. They do not establish how the final retail build will perform on hardware that Remedy has not tested or how smooth a particular scene will feel.

Official minimum and recommended hardware

Steam currently lists the minimum CPU as an Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500, with a GeForce GTX 1070, Radeon RX 5600 XT or Intel Arc A580 graphics card. The recommended tier lists an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, Radeon RX 6700 XT or Intel Arc B580. Both tiers specify 16 GB RAM, 120 GB available storage and an SSD.

Those bare storefront tiers should not be turned into invented resolution, frame-rate or graphics-preset guarantees. Remedy has also published a more detailed final requirements chart close to launch; when interpreting any tier, preserve the resolution, target frame rate, preset, ray-tracing mode and upscaler assumptions attached to that exact chart rather than comparing only GPU names.

Path tracing is confirmed, but it is not the baseline requirement

Remedy announced that CONTROL Resonant launches with path tracing, and NVIDIA has shown the PC version using path-traced effects. NVIDIA also states that the game uses RTX Mega Geometry. These are optional high-end rendering capabilities, not evidence that the minimum GTX 1070-class configuration is expected to run path tracing.

A path-traced mode changes the rendering workload substantially, so a conventional raster minimum or recommended GPU cannot be treated as a path-tracing performance promise. Likewise, an RTX model number by itself does not tell you which resolution, preset, upscaling mode or target frame rate Remedy used for a path-traced tier.

DLSS 4.5 support includes more than one feature

NVIDIA currently confirms DLSS 4.5 for CONTROL Resonant, including Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. Its GDC 2026 material also ties the path-traced presentation to RTX Mega Geometry and DLSS Ray Reconstruction. These are distinct technologies: upscaling, reconstruction and generated-frame features should not be collapsed into one generic “DLSS performance” number.

NVIDIA feature announcements are vendor evidence for feature support, not independent performance testing. Dynamic Multi Frame Generation also does not make an unsupported base frame rate equivalent to natively rendered frames; this guide therefore does not infer latency, responsiveness or image-quality results from the feature list.

Upscaling assumptions matter when reading requirement charts

A requirement tier that names an upscaler preset is describing a specific rendering setup, not native-resolution performance. Quality, Balanced and Performance modes can use different internal rendering resolutions, so stripping the upscaling assumption from a published target makes the hardware requirement misleading.

The same rule applies to ray tracing and path tracing. Compare two requirement tiers only after checking resolution, target FPS, graphics preset, upscaler preset and lighting mode. A faster GPU listed for a path-traced 4K target is not directly comparable with a lower tier aimed at rasterized 1080p.

Do not infer VRAM, CPU scaling or shader behavior before measurement

The current Steam requirements name GPU models but do not state a universal VRAM-consumption target for the game. Board memory capacity is not the same thing as measured game allocation or residency, so this page does not convert the listed cards into a claimed minimum or recommended VRAM figure.

There is likewise no independent Core Tech Tips evidence yet for CPU scaling, shader-compilation behavior, traversal stutter, driver sensitivity or the real performance cost of individual graphics settings. Those questions require the released build, controlled measurements and clearly documented test conditions.

Confirmed features can change independently of hardware tiers

The Steam hardware list and NVIDIA graphics-feature disclosures answer different questions. A storefront requirement tells you which hardware the publisher currently names for a tier; an NVIDIA announcement confirms support for NVIDIA technologies. Neither source by itself proves support for every competing upscaler, frame-generation implementation, display mode or graphics option.

For that reason, treat claims about AMD FSR, Intel XeSS, HDR, ultrawide output, Reflex or other features as confirmed only when Remedy, the storefront or the relevant technology provider documents them for CONTROL Resonant. This page will not fill gaps in the official feature matrix by assumption.

How to use this guide on launch day

Before buying or changing hardware, compare your CPU and GPU with the official tier whose complete assumptions match the way you want to play. Confirm that the game is installed on an SSD with the required free space, keep the operating system and graphics driver supported, and separate a raster target from ray-traced or path-traced targets.

After release, measured performance can be added as a separate evidence layer with the exact game version, driver, CPU, GPU, RAM, resolution, preset, upscaling mode, frame-generation state and ray/path-tracing state recorded. Until those measurements exist, the safest conclusion is narrower: the official requirements and confirmed graphics stack describe supported targets, not guaranteed real-world performance on every PC.
